15" MBPro screen freezes when lid is opened all the way.

2018 15" MBPro running Big Sur 11.6.4

Trackpad and taptic feedback work fine until the lid is opened more than 25 degrees or so and then everything on the screen just freezes.

It seems to work with an external monitor, here's a video my nephew took to demonstrate what it does/doesn't do.

Is this a common or known issue...?

The Macbook was never dropped or exposed to water or moisture either.

Sounds like a cable issue. The 2017 version (which was still sold through part of 2018) had a particular problem with that called flexgate. If you can get it to an Apple Store they'll do a free diagnosis.
