Hi,
My mid 2009 15: Macbook Pro screen has a serious error on it.
Basically the screen starts to glitch out majorly sometimes to the point where the glitching (seen in image below) goes to weird white with burnt out edges.
I have taken the machine to my local Apple centre and had a genius go through various test with me, we identified that it's unlikely a graphics card error because using an external monitor works fine with no errors, we also did various graphic card tests and they all came up with no issues which lead us to believe that it was an error on the monitor rather than graphics card.
Sadly because of the age of the machine Apple would not touch it as it is now considered 'vintage' but the genius suggested i attempt to install a new screen myself but advised me to ask around a little first to see if anyone else has had this error and if it was defiantly a screen error, especially as it's a fairly expensive and risky job.
So has any one else had an issue like this and how have you dealt with it?
Thanks for any help in advance.
