In August I will be buying a Macbook Pro for Uni, which I am starting July 23rd, and I was looking at both the (non-retina) 15" models. I will be doing a bit of video/image editing at Uni, so I'm guessing the 2.6ghz i7 would help me over the 2.3ghz? Is the 2.6 ghz processor actually a better model, or only a faster clock speed?

Second question is the GPU. How much better is the 1GB over the 512MB GTX 650? I can't find any comparisons, and as I am getting the hi-res screen, I'm guessing it would help? I'll only be playing mainly Blizzard, Valve and Indie games.

I can definitely afford the extra $400 or so for the better model (bigger HDD, more ram, more vram and better processor), but is it worth it? Thanks!

Also, is the 7200rpm worth it over the 5400rpm? $55, it seems a no-brainer, but does it reduce battery life at all?
