Real life use cases how much better would you say the PM battery is against the normal pro?

How are you expecting that to be quantified? Published times are going to be generally accurate.

If you want an intuitive answer, it’s going to be “the max is better.”

Anyone had the pro and jumped to the max because it’s been so bad off the bat?

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is my first device in the Plus/Max line. While there are pros and cons I will say that the battery life is REAL. I didn't have a 15 Pro, but I did have a 14 Pro and it seems the battery life is similar. I'm ending my normal WFH desk with 80% battery instead of 60%. Today I've played around with my phone more and you see that I'm on track to get 12 hours of SOT where I was LUCKY to get 6 on my 14 Pro.

Max is WAY better and lasts all day. This isn’t an unknown thing. Pro lasts less but still solid depending how you use the phone.

If you want tests just search YT for many, many videos on this subject.

If you are not in the middle of nowhere, I don't think battery life between the two is really an issue. Many people have the ability to charge once during the day if needed.

The other aspect is if you aren't a heavy phone user, the extra expense for the bigger phone to get the bigger battery really doesn't make sense.

Yeah. I’m probably a more than average user of battery and I’m not having any issues making it through the day with the 15 Pro. I have a MagSafe battery if I ever need more battery but so far I’ve not needed it.

Using both 15 pro and pro max
Would say pro max last 30% longer or maybe 2-3 hour actual usage m

Thats not 6h SOT. This screen also counts the bars on the left, prior to charging up.

This sounds about right. On most of the battery tests I’ve seen the Pro gives out about the time the PM has 20% left so yeah, probably a couple of hours extra.

I prefer the size/portability of the Pro. If I need more battery I can always slap a MagSafe charger on the back or charge it up to about 50% in 30 mins with a wall charger. Also I’m around chargers most of my day so it isn’t a big deal to me. I haven’t needed to do any of this yet though as the Pro battery easily makes it through my day on a charge.

You can augment the battery on the Pro if/when needed pretty easily and still enjoy the smaller form factor.

For me, the PM is physically too big. The weight was fine when I played with one in the Apple Store but I found it too bulky in the hand/pocket. I imagine more so with a case. I don’t care about the camera.

The screen is super nice though.

I am hoping for something in the middle with the 16. I may trade in my 15P next year if that rumor pans out.

The 15PM is big but you get used to it. I sold my ipad a year ago when I got the 14PM and now 15PM as the screen is so nice and replaced my ipad media watching while traveling.

If it wasn’t for that I probably would have gone pro but if there is an in between size like you say that would be perfect.

I would charge my 12 Pro multiple times a day and it was obnoxious. I went with the 14 PM last year and I would only charge when I'd go to bed at night and it was a huge game changer for me. Honestly the PM is significantly better battary wise.

The weakest point of the pro that I had for the last year was battery life. It never go me through a day. My pro max will get me though a day easily but at time of really heavy gaming and usage it would be near dead at the end of day.

If it get you through a day on the pro then you don’t have think about the pro max. I notice the 14 and 15pro when i do multiple things at the same time, email, WhatsApp, safari, it gets warmer than the pro max and seeing the battery drop that fast on these simple tasks don’t feel right.

I thought the PM would be harder to carry around but I don’t find it the case yet even I am wearing shorts. It’s weight is somehow feel very similar to 15pro

The only hurdle getting the max is the price difference if i want to pay extra on 256gb which I don’t need

After a few good/bad days seems to have settled on my 15pro.
Yesterday fully charged 12:00 woke up today still any 56%.
Today fully charged 13:00 watched about 10-15 mins of the Ryder cup(easy:D) now 19:00 here in Blighty, still at 84%, mostly impressed.

I have no issues with my iPhone 15 Pros battery at all. I wake up at 8:30am for work (phone usually taken off charge at 9am exactly as I sit at my desk for my WFH job) and by the time I work a full day (8h) and am back in bed for 10pm, I'm still on 60-65% battery.

I'm considering limiting my battery charge to 80% and seeing how that goes for the next week.

it depends on the usage. Despite Pro Max battery is bigger than Pro battery, if Pro Max phone is used more extensively than Pro phone, the battery in Pro Max depletes faster than Pro. 😊
