Had my 15 Pro 256 GB less than a week, up to this point I had only charged it via MagSafe. It had been previously been connected via USB-C to my 2019 MacBook Pro to transfer my iTunes library songs, worked fine.

Today I connected it to the cable/charger that my iPad Pro uses and noticed it wasn't charging, tried the cable/charger for my MacBook, same result. Then used the cable supplied with the 15 Pro, same result with both chargers. I then connected to the Mac and instead of recognising the phone, it just sees an iPhone in DFU mode. The 15 Pro is working fine at this time and is happy to wireless charge. I've turned Charging Optimisation off still the same.

Suspect it is an issue with the USB-C connection, I can't see any obvious damage however. I will take it to the local Apple Store, however I'm off on a 12 day cruise from tomorrow and don't want to be without a phone, equally this might be the start of a more serious issue and a failed iPhone during the cruise would be tricky. Decisions...

Update: After scheduling an Apple Genius reservation I thought I would try one other obvious thing, cycling the power! After restarting it is working fine again, so I'm leaning towards a software issue.
