My 2010 MBP is near death, so I had to replace it and picked up a retina MBP 15" 2.3, 16GB, 512GB
ME294LL/A (current model)
for $2,399.99 at Micro Center

That is $200 below Apple's price.

Mac Mall has is for $2,499, but not in stock.

Two points:
1. Hell of a machine! Loving the Retina. Speakers are great. I've owned over a dozen Macs and this puppy is very impressive.
2. Discount of $200 leads me to believe a refresh is close at hand. Oh well, I couldn't wait and couldn't be more pleased.
:)

Congratulations with your new and cool rMBP. Personally I do not think that there will be any new rMBP anytime soon. I ordered an custom upgradeed 15" rMBP on apple store yesterday can´t wait to get it. I will get it Friday 25th april.

Best Buy discounts Macs all the time, regardless on whether an refresh is near. The best indicator of a pending refresh is when websites or stores run out of stock and aren't getting more in in a timely fashion.

I bought an open boxed from Best Buy. It was $2050 and i got a student discount on top (-150). I paid a little over 2k for this laptop. The number of cycles i had on the battery was 1.

discount does not mean a refresh is close.

i got the exact same computer for $2300 a month after release at best buy during a sale.
