I was down at 3% battery so I plugged in my charger. The top left near the esc key on the lap top got extremely hot by 65% charge (while using the computer) at about 72% the charger stopped charging and is no longer working!

The charger body is still rather hot to touch and is no longer functioning. It will not display any lights and the computer does not recognize that it is attached.

Has anyone else experienced this with their charger on the retina or non retina macbook pro?

Inspect MagSafe port. If excessive dirt, burnt mark etc, clean it with a clean, alcohol-damped (not soaked) toothbrush see if that helps. Clean the plug as well of course.
