I just acquired a Samsung U28D590D 28" 4K display 3840x2160 resolution. Currently, I have it connected via HDMI, but only at 30Hz. My question is, can I connect it via the Thunderbolt 2 port to the DisplayPort connection instead of HDMI and get the full 60Hz?

Yup, I had the same monitor and 4K was super smooth @ 60Hz via Thunderbolt/DP
