Hi there. Just curious as to some other experiences editing 4K video. A bit of info... I had a 15” MBP a number of years ago and it was a work horse, but seemed to have various problems. When it died, I went to a mid 2015 13” which has been absolutely rock solid. However, as I’m doing more 4K editing it’s not up to the task so much. I much prefer the size of the 13” and was wondering if the new 13” will cut it. A bit of my int need purposes:
- 4K editing in Final Cut Pro
- writing and tracking in Logic
- programming, mainly swift and python
- regular office use

Thoughts?

Doesn't matter, they both can do it perfectly fine (unless you are into professional film production which the 13'' will definitely not handle)

At least for the programming and regular office task even a MacBook Air would do.

With the 13" you're only get an iGPU, and the screen is quite a bit smaller. Can you work in 4k editing on such a small screen? I found the 13" too limiting screen size with using Lightroom.

Thanks for the replies. As for the screen, when doing heavy work I’m usually plugged into larger screens. There are time that I’m editing while in the go, but more times than not I’m using a nice external monitor
