I've just noticed that my 680MX emits a high-pitched whine, which I think is a type of coil whine, under load. This is mostly prominent in WoW with high view distance onlooking mountain scenery. The whine goes away completely if I bring down View Distance to lowest, but increases the more I bring up the graphic settings. It also changes depending on my camera angles, and is gone if I look up into the sky.
The sound is exactly the same as the one from light dimmers, and it is very quiet (yet still there and rather annoying) - has anyone else noticed this or do I perhaps have a bad card (or is my hearing just too good? 😛)?
