I purchased a SIIG USB 3/2 hub with ethernet for use with my Mac Book Pro Retina. The ethernet adapter contained on the hub requires use of drivers.

I installed those drivers yesterday from SIIG's website, and they caused my Mac to slow down as well as crash repeatedly. So I uninstalled them.

I found newer drivers on ASIX's website:

After installing these drivers, they just flat out don't work. The old drivers would at least activate the ethernet port. The new drivers, despite following every instruction to install them, just do nothing. So I've uninstalled them for the time being and am back to using WiFi.

Has anyone been able to get these USB 3 ethernet controllers from ASIX to work?

Yes, I got one from Startech and it kinda works. Problem is that hot plugging doesn't work, so unless I reboot with the adapter plugged in, it won't work. You might be having the same issue. Other than that it works quite well.
