What many guys will see if they wear these things
Just teasing...
Wonder if you can use Google Glasses like beer goggles. That would be a reason to get them. Tonight feels like a redhead night! Then google puts a hologram of a redhead over the beast you took home from the bar.

...I need to save up my money!
This is also the case for me. I really hope it's not $1500 for us as well as developers. Personally think that would be too high.
Does anyone know how it works with a SIM? Is it the kind of thing that you would buy on contract?
I thought these would be bluetooth 4.0, and would run off your iPhone or high end Android.
That being the case, I don't know what tech in the glasses would make it cost $1500, maybe it's the R&D that making the cost so high up front, but will drop drastically when Apple and other competitors come out with their versions. I do think these need to be in Oakley frames with with transition lenses to really get people to wear them and keep them on.
The other thing that I thought about was in the cinema. Okay Glass: Hangout with all my friends so they can watch this film for free.
You're in the U.K. so I am not sure if you have ever seen VH1's pop up video. (You can see on youtube) That could be another possibility for add-ins to a film giving you "additional information" about the movie you're watching.
I also like what Jessica posted with what key to push on the piano. I think most of us can't even fathom what's coming in the next 5 to 10 years.
Who needs real life face to face interaction anymore.

Because it's a non mass produced prototype of a new type of device?
LOL, that made me laugh.
I'm pretty sure that won't happen. I mean, they don't do it on Android.
