I'm actually going to be doing this on my late-2009 iMac next week.

A few questions about your process, Did you enable Trim prior to installing OS X? or Post Installation? or not at all?

Also which SSD did you go with? I opted for the Samsung 840.

Enabled trim afterwards. Not sure it matters. I've had good luck with these crucial m4s. Various sizes. Figured out 128gb integrated with 1tb HDD is fine. Save money versus the larger ones.

These are speeds on my iMac 2010 connecting on the extra sata connection on the motherboard. On the 2009 thru optical sata -- slightly lower -- 185 write 230 read.. Hope that helps.
