Being new to the whole Apple :apple: thing, I am having trouble getting my OS to remember what my finder window size should be on restart. Every time I restart my iMac, and open finder, I need to drag the window to a more usable size. It stays this way until I shutdown, but then when I restart, its back to its small size and I need to drag and re-size again.

Is there a way I can get OS X (10.8.3) to remember my finder preferences on restart?

It should remember your window size. Try and delete Finder's preferences file and see if that helps.

to do this, click finder's "go" menu, and hold the option key down. Click on Library. Navigate to the preferences folder and locate the file named "com.apple.finder.plist". Delete this file, then reboot your computer.

Thanks Drew017, I will try this tonight when I get home from work.

Do I need to re-size my finder window before I restart or before I delete the plist file?

Cheers
