I want something that is similar to ACDSee on the Windows side of things. open a file in a directory for example and it lets you hit left/right to shuffle through the images. Resize ability, flip vertically/horizontally and save as another file would be nice. I just want something quick and easy. iPhoto while nice, I don't really want to catalog the images, they're already organized the way i want and i don't need to use iPhoto to do that. Any suggestions?

If it's cheap i guess i don't mind, $10-15 tops however. you are free to suggest more expensive stuff, and if i have a use for it it's also an option down the road. i always like to hear of good products whether i'll use them or not.

Nothing is particularly wrong with them. They work fine. But i'd like to be able to flip through photos by hitting the left and right arrow keys or up and down, it doesn't matter. quickly rotate, resize, flip, and save as a separate file quickly. acdsee works great for this, i was just hoping there was something similar for OS X.

Preview and Finder just don't work in the way i like for this type of function. If i'm missing something then please tell me. But i know of no easy way to resize a photo using Preview. Or crop a photo and keep the aspect ratio. I want features similar to iPhoto, but more along the lines of just an image viewer and not an image organizer. The resize thing is what bugs me most about preview, the rest i can live with. If there's a nice quick freeware app that does the resize/crop stuff, i'd love to just use that instead. preferably if it's automator capable ;)
 
Yeah, it definitely still has some quirks, but it's free and pretty useful so I thought I'd reccomend. There's always graphic converter, which is like a mini photoshop, but it's not free. Depending on your model of computer, it might have actually came pre-installed by Apple. Good luck, and hopefully someone else with better knowledge can chime in. :)

oh duh.. i have graphicconverter (PowerBook) but due to rarely using it.... i forgot about it. well well well, you have officially solved my problem. appreciate it ;)
 
Xee is a must have if you're coming from Windows because it works the same as the Windows image preview (especially being able to open one file with a double click and then page down through other files in that folder)
