Have a 16:9 squeezed QT file that I want to change to 4:3 for regular TV, but can't seem to get it right, hoping someone out there has done this successfully.

It is possible, but you really need quicktime pro to do it for you. Do you have it?
 
Found another way, just put file into Browser, clicked on Motions>Distort>33.33 and it worked perfectly, burnt a dvd from it.
