So I have done a fairly extensive tests on the photos app benchmarking them and comparing the result between a 12 cores Mac Pro, 16" MBP from the yesteryear and numerous M1 machines. From Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Capture 1 and basic 4K export using Final Cut Pro. I also talked about some preliminary thoughts about display calibration as well for those who needs it. I have been testing the base 16" model with 16 GB RAM. So far the result is great when comparing it to a 2019 MBP 16", power efficiency is awesome. But I was expecting a bit more performance wise, I am getting a 32 cores GPU M1 Max in about 3 weeks time so we shall see how that performs.
