16 Gb ram in a 24" iMac?

Hello,
I have read, not in this forum, that some have installed 16 Gb ram, 1333 Mhz, in their 24" iMac.
Is it really possible to install two 8 Gb ddr3 1333 Mhz modules in a 24" iMac?
Will they function correctly, and will ML manage the 16 Gb correctly?
Mine is the last review of the 24" iMac, 3.06 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor.

PS: Gb is Gigabit, GB is GigaByte.
