I am currently configuring a MBP 16” with i9 2.3, 32 GB, 1TB.
I will use it mostly for everyday activities like Safari, Lightroom, Office and some games on Steam (Tomb Raider, Civ 6, ...).
I could either go with the 5500 4GB or 8 GB. Price difference would be 100Euro in my case.
Is the upgrade meaningful / good for the long run?
Is the 8GB making the MBP hotter and consequently louder?
I definitely want it as silent as possible. Anyone who can share experiences with these configurations?

8 GB VRAM is totally worth it for just $100 more. Will make gaming & GPU intensive tasks faster. The VRAm has no effect on noise.

The 16" is virtually silent for productivity uses. It gets loud & hot during gaming and heavy load processing, which is normal.
