Hi Guys,

Am having a strange problem that comes and goes when i wake my MacBook from sleep, this doesn't always happen just now and then. When i wake my MacBook and login and try to use the internet or any app that uses the internet it doesn't work, i try disconnecting and reconnecting to the wifi but this doesn't fix the problem. I try and reboot and the system crashes (sort of) the menu bar goes away as well as desktop icons but the dock remains. I can still move the mouse around but can't click on anything and the system just sits there and doesn't restart and i have to hard shut down the system (long press power Button). I reboot and log back in again and the systems runs fine until i try to shut down again at which point it "crashes". I then hard shut down and restart again and log back in, again all is well and now i can shut down without any issue. Any one come across this before??? I have reinstalled, i haven't wiped it clean yet as i only wanted to do this as a last resort. As far as i can tell this has only happens the i wake the system from sleep, this has never happened when the system has been fully shut down and booted up.

I have run the apple diagnostics and it comes back with no issues detected.

Thanks for any help

Matt

Are you on 12.2 beta by chance? I didn't have this exact issue, but I was having substantial issues when waking from sleep where the performance would drop off a cliff making the machine almost unusable until a reboot. Recovery reinstall didn't help, but doing a full reformat and rolling back to 12.1 seems to have fixed my issue.

no, am on 12.1 i think a reformat is the only thing that might fix it.
