Recently received my 16" M1Max 32 Core/64GB/512GB spec which I need as I run 3 external monitors as part of finance work. I am not a creative (yet), but had specced this as a keeper laptop.
My dilemma now however is whether the unused power would be better directed to battery life - and to respec as a 24 core/32GB/1TB configuration instead.
For reference, the memory demand on plugging in 3 USBC 4K 27" monitors is ~1GB so not huge. In my usage, I don't hit swap, however, used memory gets to the 30-32GB range excluding cached memory
I have run with low power mode, but don't like it as do get some stuttering even on screen at times (with gmail etc)
**
Has anyone got battery comparisons of a 16" m1 Max
* 32 core vs 24 core
* 32 GB vs 64 GB (see some ppl regard extra memory draining - however, can't see why that is vs a SSD swap; or if memory is unused?)
Thanks
