Hi, I have a company issued laptop that will get stuck at boot unless I relentlessly reset pram. It’s at roughly the 70% mark.

I’ve tried reinstalling but the issue remains. Thinking it’s a hardware issue and needs to go back, but wanted to check here first.

I am able to boot into recovery, and have even attempted installing another os on a separate volume. But still, hangs at 70%.

Anything I can try? Thanks

Attached is the point it stalls during boot.

If you can, boot into recovery and run Disk Utility > First Aid and see if that resolves your problem. You should backup your data as more than likely if its not a hardware defect, the IT guys will re-image the laptop.

More than likely it has a managed profile and you won't be able to effectively troubleshoot it.

There's nothing managed about the laptop, it's all as open as my other machines. I've tried first aid but it didnt fix anything.

I think given the fact i've been able to reinstall it, even on a new volume, and it still doesn't work, it's time to send it back. Oh well. Thanks though

In that case then its most likely a hardware issue. Time to send it back to the mothership.
