My brand new 16" macbook pro is having really strange problems. Sometimes (like 25% of the time) when I open it up after walking around or just touch the space bar to take it out of sleep mode and turn the screen on, the gamma is waaaaaaaaay off. Like it's in a completely unsupported color space. Not like the brightness is just dim, but the blacks are crushed. It reminds me of if you're hooking up an xbox to a tv and you inproperly setup the hdmi black levels. The only way I've found to fix it is to either rest the entire machine or go into the settings and adjust the scaled resolution to a different size and force it to basically refresh itself.

I'm on the latest version of osx (10.15.3) and there's no external monitor or anything plugged in. I took a video with my phone to show it happening again tonight.

This happened on my 2016 15" TB MBP as well from time to time under 10.14.x but it has not shown up under 10.15.x for me. I don't think it's a hardware issue but a software bug either related to a conflict of some sort of just an OS bug. Best to send your video to Apple support and hopes it finds it way unto an engineer.
