Been having issues in iOS 18 since launch where the framerate of my 16 pro will randomly drop.

There’s no rhyme or rhythm to it. I unlock the device, start swiping, and it feels like the framerate rate dropped to 30hz. If I turn the screen off and on, the frame often goes back to normal.

This isn’t just a “limit to 80hz for battery” thing. It’s new with iOS 18 and seems like a bug where the framerate rate dropped rate gets stuck in a really low rate.

Pretty amazed that it’s iOS 18.3 and still an issue. And no, it’s not due to low battery mode or limiting frame rate to 60hz. It doesn’t happen to specific apps. It happens until I turn the screen off and back on regardless of app.

Anyone else having this issue??

This is the second 16 pro I’ve owned and both have the problem. Seems to be software.
Did you restore a backup? I find my 16 Pro performs consistently, it only gets really choppy if I lower the frame rate on purpose.

Pretty sure I factory reset my first iPhone and set it up as new. Still faced issues. Eventually sold it. Thought it would be fixed by now.

I’ve had that for a while now and I have an 15 Pro on 17. Example: Unlock the phone and it…stops/halts..just for a while…then opens up, icons zoom into view and background is clear and then a 0.8-1 second pause until it fuzzes up (the stained glass effect).

Sometimes scrolling stutters…and buttons are push, wait, respond.

Opening apps is slow….

It’s like it’s mad at me for complaining about it too much here on the forum and doing it on purpose

Same issue here, mostly happens when swiping home screen right shortly after unlocking, 16 pro on iOS 18.3.1, restoring didnt help
