I'm Looking to get a new MacBook. I went to check out the new 16 and it's a bit bigger than I would ideally like, but I like the performance focus. I am trying to figure out how much faster a base 16" will be than the current 28w 13" either now or when they refresh the 13" with the new keyboard sometime next year. I mainly use it for data analysis R, python, etc. Most of the programs are not explicitly multithreaded, but I tend to multitask and have several analyses running concurrently. No gaming or intense graphics requirements except run a 5K external + native display smoothly.
