Hi,
I have finished a short film (16 x 9 DVCAM footage) on FCP and two questions:
I know I can make a DVD by:
-making a 4x3 timeline in FCP,
-dumping the movie into that,
-changing the aspect ratio so that the "black bars" are above and below.
-Saving this as a self contained FCP project, and then importing it into iDVD
Basically I just want the best possible quality on a DVD that will play on a 4x3 or 16x9 TV, and I am not interested in pan and scan.
1) Is there a simpler way to do this with DVD Studio Pro and/or toast?
***
I'm currently running 10.2.8 with FCP 3.
I have Tiger "ready" (ie - it's sitting there waiting) and was thinking of upgrading once I made master copies of the movie on DV and making a "Self contained FCP project" on a different drive (ie multiple backups) to take advantage of the newer DVD Studio pro and new Quicktime (if that helps).
2) Will the upgrade / new codecs / software help me at all?
