1600 itunes error

Hey everybody. Not new to jailbreaking.

Using redsnow 0.9.10 on mac upgrading from 4.3.2 01.59.00BB (jailbreakme) - 5.01 redsnow

I followed all step on iclarified.
Built custom ispw.
Put into pwned dfu.

Itunes sense its still on recovery.
When i click option + restore --> still gives me 1600 error.

Need help.

I just had the same problem and remedied it by quitting Redsn0w after creating the custom file, but before launching iTunes to restore.

I just added a # to the start of the line, flushed the cache, and it fixed it.

I would thank this post umpteen times!! Happily upgrading to iOS5.0.1 using Pwangetool!!

I removed the gs.apple line that pointed to Saurik server and while I was at it placed a # in front of the 127.0.0.1 iphonesubmissions.apple.com

Can someone please elaborate on this "edit host file" process. Sitting here frustrated, I don't understand what that above website is telling me to change. Well I get I have to change something, I just don't understand "how" to make that change.

Can someone please explain??

If you are using Windows the host file is here:

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ or %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\
 
Go to Finder
Hit the "Shift + Command + G" keys
Type "/private/etc/" into the search window
Press enter
Go to the file named "hosts"
Open it in TextEdit.app

Edit: or is it just /etc/ ?
 
i still can't get past the error 1600 on my mac and iphone4. what can i do please!?!?!

If your using redsn0w why are you building a IPSW on your own? RedsnOw on mac does it automatically for you. I used 0.9.10b1 this morning and it worked fine. The only issue I had was prior to the JB was that when I saved my sshblobs in TinyUmbrella I forgot to unccheck "set hosts to cydia on exit" and I did get an error only when upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 stock from apple. Once if fixed that I was good to go. SO I'm just confused on your workflow using redsn0w on mac since it basically automatic.

Now if your using windows I understand the whole build your IPSW thing.
