Maybe a stupid thing to ask on a mac forum, but still.

I got a Ipad2 to day, but its really filled with kid apps. I like to be able to have tv-shows like walking dead etc on it and well does arent very kid friendly.
So i have decided to buy a own tablet!

I been looking at the Ipad 4 and the Xperia Tablet Z. I havent tryed android much so well....

What i will use it for:
Watch TV-series
Web
Some gaming (Not much really)
Books

Nothing else, no office or anything really.

First i did check the Nexus 10, but its to bulky and i dont like the finish on it, i like something that feels "expensive" :)

Thanks!

Are you in need for a tablet this very moment? A rumor is the updated nexus 7 in a few weeks

I would say if you read a lot the 4:3 of the ipad will be better. If you watch more movies, 16:10 may be better. That really IMO is the biggest factor for you to consider since you will be able to get the same apps, for the most part.

The aspect ration on the iPad will be better for 2 out of the 4 things you mentioned. The Sony Tablet Z aspect ration will be better for 1 out of the 4. Gaming is pretty subjective when it comes to aspect rations. However, the iPad will likely have a better selection of games to play.

For your uses, I would also consider the weight of the device. I am not aware of the weight of the device you are looking at but I know the Samsung galaxy tablet in our house is much lighter than my iPad and the kids like using that device more than the iPad.

Just a thought.

I'd go with the iPad4 over the Tablet Z.

I have the Xperia Z phone and it's not that special compared with other phones. The Sony tablet Z is supposed to have almost the same internals as the phone.
