Since my upgrade to Mountain Lion on my 2011 iMac, occasionally (about 5 times now) my desktop will be almost a complete white blank when I wake up my display from sleep. So far, the ribbon has remained so I can restart my computer with my mouse and on re-boot the desktop comes back. Unfortunately, I have never taken a screen shot to post.

Well tonight something very bizarre happened. When I woke up my display I was facing a wall of white. The only thing remaining of my desktop was my wi-fi icon on the upper right but everything else was gone including the ribbon. Aha I thought, this time I would take a screen shot to post here before resorting to a hard shut down with the power button to restore my desktop. So I hit cmd+shift+4 and started to drag from the upper left corner towards the lower right corner. As I dragged, the desktop came back along the line of my drag, just as if I was in Photoshop painting a brush stroke on a mask to reveal the bottom layer. Has anyone else ever experienced this? It is freakin' bizarre! And there's no point posting the screen shot because by the end of the drag at the lower right corner, my entire desktop was back and so my normal desktop is what's in the screen shot. Weirdest of weird I tell ya!
