Where does it say this? I couldn't find it on the website.

Kill two birds with one stone; clear out two, about to be updated products, at once. Gotta hand it to BB.

Definitely!

A store I used to work at did this all the time with cameras and accesseries. When the next-gen was nearing they would do crazy sales like buy a camera, get a free case & sd card half off, just to clear it all out.

Our local Best Buy has Apple TV stacked to the ceiling. The Chromecast on the other hand is sold out. Salesman said people are coming in every hour asking for one.

That's probably because the Chromecast is new. Just wait until Apple TV 4.

I went to BB and they would not let me use college promotion with the free Apple TV, they said it was double dipping..WTH

Wouldn't surprise me if Apple was offering these to BB at a discount to clear its own channels without Apple appearing to be selling at a discount at its own branded stores (which would trigger the usual "I'm not buying until after the upgrade" sales drop).

Wow, brand new rMBP 13 for $1199 + tax! Makes me want to return my wife's 2013 MBA for a rMBP at that price.

Must be. One would think BB would sell a lot of computers this time of year anyway because of the back to school season. I guess they are doing like all retailers: just trying to get people in the door to buy something else they can actually make a profit on ;)

must resist.... I don't really need an apple tv but there is no state tax this weekend for back to school so it would be nice to save 300+

Really? You guys are complaining that they're trying to sell off their soon-to-be old stock at a low price?

What do you want them to do, double the price??

You are only $800 off.

I just picked up a 13" cMBP with apple care and got a the $100 gift card through apple. Wasn't going to get apple care right away but couldn't resist that being tax free too.

Best Buy Offer VS Upgrade...

I recently bought the new Macbook Air (higher end 13" model), but after a couple weeks I realized it wasn't going to be enough power for my needs. So, decided to wait for the upgraded MBPr and pay the difference.

So, I guess my issue here is whether to buy the current 1,499 version at BB with 256 SSD. Or wait until the upgraded 1,499 with Haswell, better graphics, and *(hopefully) a 256 SSD as well?

In writing the question out, I have come to the conclusion that this is a no-brainer. I'm also not in any particular rush.
