MiniDP Monitor DaisyChained through HardDrive?

Hi,

Currently have a DGM/monoprice 27" Display (2560x1440), plugged into my macbook.
I was looking at buying thunderbolt storage, but im unclear if the monitor would work through the storage or not?

The particular model i was looking at was the WD MyBook TB Duo.

to clarify the connection would be.
TB Macbook > TB cable > TB Drive > MiniDP cable > Monitor

I have the exact same set-up and it works fine.

I have a 2011 MBP, seagate Thunderbolt drive and Dell monitor.

I ran one through a LaCie eSata T-Bolt hub.

Should be fine.

The only down point is the the monitor, with no t-Bolt pass-through, ends the daisy chain.

no really downside. you can continue adding the TB peripheral (6 limit) and just always put the monitor at the end of the chain.

Unless you have a Thunderbolt device that only has one port, in which case you're screwed.

That assumes all other devices have pass-through as well. The OP cannot use a T-Bolt Ethernet adapter for example. It's still a limiting downside. But you are right, you just put the MDP cable at the end.
