Can I delete the xxxxxx.lock file?

If I delete what will happen? I can see it only if I connect my hd to a pc as an external. Apple wants to charges to unlock which is rediculous. Any help would be much appreciated.

Why don't you just rename or move it to a different disk/folder (instead of deleting) to see what happens?

Uggh.... Nothing same thing... I'm about to throw it away. really. The headache is just making want to go buy another one.

These are the #'s I have can anyone figure this out? it's a 6 digit code not the 4 digit code. and when I take it to apple they say to try the disk to reinstall and if that doesn't work it will cost because my warranty is out and ... I'm just freaking pissed.
Please somebody come though and help out.
