Cross-grades were never difficult for me at Apple Stores. I would let them upgrade the other line, then slam my SIM into the new phone. Waltz into an ATT store and get a new sim for the other line and slam it into their phone.

except thats not a true cross upgrade. At the AT&T stores if you do a cross upgrade, you never need to swap sims or get a new one

that right there. At Apple, 2 of my lines will go down until i take those phones to the AT&T store to get new sims. I'm not bringing my whole family with me to the apple store.
