I have been using the beta since the inception and today went to update to the actual iOS 7......and it said I was up to date. I know the apps update automatically but did the actual OS update as well automatically?

It will say up to date till 7.01

Beta currently

So could I just leave it until then? I mean it seems to be running fine thus far. Will I gain anything by getting back with the actual version?

Are you on the GM? If so, you're on the public release and everything will proceed as normal.

If you are on beta 6 or earlier, you must install the GM/public release from your computer. You cannot OTA update from a beta to the public release or any release thereafter, so you must install that first.

I'm not sure, when I go into the "About" section on my phone it says

Version: 7.0 (11A4449d)

You are on an older beta (either 5 or 6). Follow my instructions from previous post.

Ok cool, so basically just plug my phone into my computer and when iTunes opens go and update the software from there? Sounds easy enough!

Approximately how long until this beta version craps out on me?

I believe the expiration date for beta 5 and 6 is October 6th.

I downloaded the ipsw file or whatever, and it said to download the new iTunes but when it tries to open the app store it says up to date.........even though it says version 10.5 and 11.1 is required

Thanks man! Haha my boss would laugh if he knew how much trouble I was having with this......my job is problem solving......hopefully he doesn't check this site! :)

I am now on version 7.0 (11A465)

Is that the correct 1 that will update like normal now?

Yessir, you're all set.

Thanks again man for all your help! Way more helpful than any idiot I've ever encountered at the Genius Bar :)

Trust me I've given answers to customers at the Genius Bar (when I was a customer there myself) that the Genius' couldn't even give them. They're not all they're cracked up to be :p

Glad I could help, let me know if you've got other questions.

I could use some help. On Beta 6, not a developer. iPhone 5 A1429, downloaded the iPhone5,2_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw which is the build of the GM/Public release right for my version correct?

So when I attempt to shift+update, I receive this message:

What do I do?

Make sure you pick the version thats right for you. Like the GSM iPhone 5 file won't work if you have a CDMA iPhone 4s

Got it figured out thanks. Was hesitant to do it directly through iTunes because I saw people were sometimes getting a "you are not a registered developer" message. But went for it anyways and it updated fine.

Cool, glad you got it worked out!
