Just updated to ios7 on my 4S and it's really annoying me the amount of gray that is now on my screen with no more transparency for the grouping icons/home screen bar that ios6 had. Has anyone found a way to get rid of the horrid grayness and go back to transparent?

If by grey, you mean the light white-ish background that sits behind the main apps at the bottom of the screen the answer is no. There is no way to change that in iOS 7.

I have the same problem. I was merely on my phone, when suddenly the screen turned black and a white apple showed up. Then my lock screen came, and when I came to the Home screen my wallpaper was gray. I didn't like this, so I changed my wallpaper in the Settings. But when I looked, my Home wallpaper was still the same. Can anyone help me? Thank you.
