I have had iOS 7 through all the betas on my iPhone 5. One feature I liked was Siri's more natural sounding voice. I passed my iPhone 5 down to my partner and got a 5S today but on the 5S, Siri sounds very robotic. Asking the same question on the 5 and the 5S is a really noticeable difference.

Any idea why this would be happening or how to fix it?

You're right it is a notable difference between both phones but the 5s is more natural than the 5.

My issue was I did have it sounding natural on the 5 but now the new phone she sounds robotic. There is no inflections to anything she says on the 5S but on the 5 she sounds as good as she did during the beta.

I actually solved it now though. I hit "reset all settings" on the 5S and now she sounds back to normal. I restored my 5S from a backup that I used during the beta's so I guess there was a leftover glitch that carried over. All back to normal now. Sorry

Could you possibly do a video of them side by side asking the exactly same thing?

It's fixed now and the both sound the same. My 5 that I gave to my partner was restored from his iOS 6 backup and he never had any beta versions. My 5S was set up from a backup I had during the beta. Resetting all settings seemed to get rid of whatever glitch was causing this. I can't seem to replicate it now.

One review says new SIRI more natural. Go figure.

Personally I want an Ebonics voice or any accent I choose or even a sarcastic tone would be much funner!

You have to have your phone plugged in and connected to wifi and the high quality voice will get pushed to your phone. You'll know it's done when the voiceover settings show a toggle for "compact voice" (meaning the robotic one).

You don't have to do anything. Just use a few times and it should get better. I've noticed the same thing on my 5s but also noticed it after a fresh install of iOS 7 on my iPhone 5.

I heard that you could change Siri's voice from Male to female (UK) but unless I want it to change to another country I can't. Did that get dropped as a feature?

It's only for the North American voice, the UK voice is still the dreadful old voice. I personally have it set to Canada so I can get normal spelling and I just try to put on my best American accent when using Siri. I think it works just fine, I quite enjoy the new voice.

I'll give Canada a go then. I don't really use Siri all that much. Most annoying is the name pronunciation.
