I'm curious as to what the Straight Talk speed is on your location? And please advise your iPhone model as well, doesn't have to be iPhone 5s. I'm thinking of switching from Verizon to Straight Talk and hopefully Straight Talk's speed is as good as Verizon here in San Diego, CA. Your input will be greatly appeciated. Thanks!

Speed Test at home with a ST AT&T Sim.

Nice, this is my speed test result using Verizon in San Diego, CA

I'm still waiting to get iPhone 5s and so hopefully I'll have a decision by then whether to switch to Straight Talk from Verizon.

Just food for thought, I don't believe the Verizon version of the ST iPhone gets LTE - that is Verizon doesn't allow ST access to its LTE network. I have an ST AT&T sim and get LTE everywhere around my local area, but i think that is limited to AT&T and maybe TMobile sims.

ymmv

That being said, here are a few LTE speed test around the Pittsburgh area on ST.

My phone is being unlocked tomorrow (or so I'm told), I'll post an update on whether or not it worked for me (I ordered 2 of the LTE cards) as soon as possible. I have a T-Mobile card for the SIM swap.

I'm getting 20-25 down and 7-10 up, Johnson City, TN (and surrounding area).
iPhone 5

Wow, I knew Straight Talk will throttle your data speed after 2.5 GB but didn't think that it's going to be this slow. My speedtest shows average of .05 mbps only up/down  now that my data is being throttled, still got 5 days left from my prepaid service with them. Should I switch to AT&T Go or any other carrier?

They didn't throttle me until 5.8 GB.

Check out t-mobile.

Okay, this is ridiculous! I signed up for "reduced speeds after 2.5 GB" not "nonexistent service" does anybody know how AIO is?

Here's a speediest showing the Straight Talk T-Mobile 4G AWS NanoSIM in Culver City, CA on an iPhone 5S.

AT&T Go is great but its far more expensive. You pay $15 more a month for less data, and each additional GB of data is $10. If you have an iPhone 5C or 5S and have good T-Mobile service in your area, its better to get the T-Mobile Straight Talk SIM because Straight Talk is not enforcing the new 2.5GB limit on T-Mobile yet (and most likely never will). You do not get T-Mobie LTE with a straight talk t-mobile SIM, but I find that their DC-HSPA+ network is often much better then AT&T's crappy and congested 4G LTE at least in LA.

If I have an unlocked AT&T iPhone, can I use a t-mobile sim? The obvious answer is no, but your comment made it sound doable.
