Google Chrome Helper (not responding) in 10.9

OS: 10.9 GM
Macbook Pro 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7 Mid 2012. Macbook Pro 9,1
Google Chrome: Version 30.0.1599.69

So since upgrading to Mavericks GM, I've noticed that there is at least one Google Chrome Helper processes in Activity monitor that is not responding. I'm not sure what the root cause of this is, but sometimes after using chrome for a while, a beachball will appear for a fraction of a second.

Is this happening to anybody else?
 
I've noticed this too. On top of that Chrome is extremely lagging since I updated. I've switched to safari until Chrome updates.
 
I dont' know what's wrong with google lately.

Chrome 30 on 10.8.5 and 10.7.4 both cause 30 second sleep delays during which the computer won't go to sleep after command-option-eject has been pressed.

So I'm assuming this is a chrome issue rather than a mavericks issue?

I noticed it had been doing that but I didn't know it was because of Chrome. Might go take a look over at the google forums and see.
 
I upgraded (didn't do a clean install) to Mavericks and am running Chrome 30.0.1599.101. The issue of 30 second sleep delay still persists. I'm quite surprised that this issue still exists because someone on Google Forums reported that: "Heads up. The issue seems to be gone with mavericks :)"

So maybe only a clean install of Mavericks may solve this issue? Has anyone done a clean install and noticed the sleep delay issue go away?
 
I had the 30-second thing issue before upgrading to 10.9, it's now gone with mavericks installed. (not a clean install)

That sounds good. Did you check it when Chrome is open? Also what model of mac are you running? It might just be on certain models. Mine is MBP 2010 13".
 
1: It's not actually not responding, activity monitor just reports that it isn't

2: It's already fixed in the Canary and Dev builds

3: Chrome doesn't delay wake or sleep for me so it's probably some other issue (could also be that it's been fixed in Chrome 31 or 32)

4: Random beachballs is some issue caused by Mavericks and happens in a bunch of programs including Safari, not sure what causes it. see Here and Here

Thanks for this information. I'm using the Chrome 30 version, which is the latest stable release. So you are saying the sleep delay issue doesn't exist in Chrome 31 and later?

Yes it's fixed in chrome 32 for sure https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=132336

Not sure if that fix has been pushed down the ladder to 31 though.

I'd imagine the next stable build will receive this fix plus the fix for processes showing as not responding.
