If you own the iPad 4 will you be updating to the new iPad Air?

For me I'm torn, I love the shape of the iPad mini and now the full size iPad has it. The spec bump is so so and won't be noticed very much by me at least. But to spend $150-$200 (depending on what my 4th gen sells for) for just the new design seems silly to me.

Why or why not will you be upgrading?
 
I think that if I decide to stick with Apple products, than the iPad Air is definitely worth the upgrade as the MIMO will improve streaming speeds of video and downloads.

If the resolution is exactly the same for iPad mini retina and iPad air, then it seems like the mini is the better deal considering its cheaper and has the same processor. I am not sure if Apple will include a faster processor in the air.
 
I'm upgrading from the iPad 4 to the Air because it is thinner, lighter and faster which are enough reasons for me. The mini with retina is appealing, but I still prefer the larger screen.

Actually the mini has the same screen but it is smaller so it is actually better because it is more pixel dense.

that is what i said. I said if they both have the same resolution, then the mini is the better deal. That would be because of pixel density and decreased price and same processor
 
I enjoy my iPad 4 very much, it's fast, light, portable and the screen is brilliant. I see no need for the newer iPad Air. If anything I would get the new retina mini. But I dont even really want that. Plus I really liked the way the iPad 2,3 and 4 looked! I'm not a fan of the chamfered(sp?) edge on these iPads, on the phone I like it on the iPad for some reason I do not!

Once my iPad 4 becomes slow doing what I do, then I will upgrade, but I dont think that will be for a while.
 
Love my iPad4 and it's fast enough for my needs. If I have to upgrade probably that'll happen with iPad 6 (Pro?) which likely to get touch ID and 8mp camera. My only problem is with IOS7, I'm still not liking the new look and features. (still on 6.1.3)
 
Nope will upgrade to ipad 6 next year. Just purchased iphone 5s and Macbook pro retina Haswell.

Was almost sure this AM but after the intro. I'm w/ Steve above 'cept we agree to disagree re. iOS7.

Same here.

I bought my 64gb ipad 4 about 6 months ago. I bought it for the long haul and am quite pleased to be sitting where I am with 6.1.3... Clean, quick, and glitch-free.
 
Until I find a use case for the new iPad, I will probably stick it out with this one and iOS6. get the Mini to carry around.

I don't hold my iPad, I rest it on my lap, if I watch a movie it sits beside me, I'm starting to think I don't need the iPad air at all.

So I will wait for the 12-13" pro model in March (it's coming....) and just get the Mini Retina now.

Now if the new iPad had TouchID (tired of waiting for my iPad to unlock with my thumb, got so use to resting it on the button from using my 5s) and a Better camera (slow mo, better inside shots with a flash) The I would be upgrading for sure, no question.
 
If the iPad air turns out to have more ram and the same battery life as the iPad 4 then I'll get it. Also depends how hard it is to get an iPad air.

Leaning towards sticking with my 4. Paying $150+ simply for the new design I cant justify since my 4 works flawless for me.
 
Definitely upgrading. my arms were getting really fatigued by the weight of the 4 after using the ipad mini & nexus 7. it got so bad i felt i was going to have that wrist problem (forgot the name)
 
I'm going to sit this one out. This upgrading every year is getting tiresome. I upgraded from the 3 to the 4. These speed claims never pan out, at least for me and how I use my ipad (reading, browsing, movies, not a gamer). My 4 is plenty fast and a great device. I never find it too heavy since I never hold it. Are people really complaining about 1.4 pounds? Geez. I carry 20 pounds boxes of cat litter and don't complain!

I agree keeping up with all the updated sis hard. But it's a good thing for technology obviously
 
I voted maybe.

- If I'm employed I'll probably upgrade because I have the 16GB 4, purchased in March, 2013, and I'm already worried about running out of space.
- If I remain "retired" then nope.
- I have to keep in mind that I won't be upgrading one 4 but two; my wife will insist on getting a new one, too. :p

I want to because I think the 4 is too heavy.
