Love the added thickness

I own an iPhone 4S but broken and now have my first android phone Samsung S4. Removable battery definitely my reason.Thought I won’t like the thickness of the phone with extended battery until own one recently. I ‘ve tried a lot of things to improve its battery life, using apps like Juicedefender and my phone could easily through one day if not using it hevily, however, I always use a lot on it, so I basically swapped a second half day. I have several OEMs, but got my first extended battery (a 7000mah one of mpj) recently. I now kinda rely on extd. battery. It currently gives me a total screen-on time of 7-9 hours. The extra juice is definitely worth the extra bulk and weight nd the added weight and thickness gives more surface to hold on to.

Anyone also lean to extended battery?

I'd rather have a thick phone with a longer battery life than a thinner phone with a shorter one. Right now, I charge part way through the day. I would like my phone to have a battery life as long as my tablet (15 hours screen time).

7000? Wow. Where are you during the course of a day that you aren't around any electrical outlets or in a car with a car charger? Are you working in the Amazon like 16 hours a day? :p
 
7000mah and only 7-9 hours of screen on time. Somethings not right here. My nexus 7 only has a 3950mah battery yet easily can get over 9-10 hours of screen on time and it has a biugger screen. You should be getting over 20 hours of screen on time with that battery.

You must have played really heavy data on it. I have a 6000 for my s3, got 7+ hrs on screen with *heavy* usage.

Sometimes I find myself working in buildings with poor signal. Thats my only explanation. I don't have many apps so I don't think it's that. It never used to be like that. Perhaps the battery is just degrading. Although it happening like that in just 11 months seems kind of odd.
 
Can somebody please tell me whether this extended battery gains many weight?? I am a noob in battery. Thanks.

It will be heavier and thicker. I had an extended battery In my S4 that made it twice as thick and probably 4x heavier.
 
7-9 hours is actually about right. On both my first and second Nexus 5, I typically get 2.5-3 hours SOT. If I am at home on wifi all day just derping around not doing anything important, I can get 4-5. But 2.5-3 is typical in a 16-18 hour day running around.

With that said, it is simple cross multiplication.

2300/3 = 7000/X
7000*3 = 21000
21000/2300 = 9.13

2300/2.5 = 7000/X
7000*2.5 = 17500
17500/2300 = 7.6

So ya, 7-9 hours is about right. Whoever said 20 hours doesn't know what they are talking about.

Now, I personally don't like extra bulk so I've learned toward external battery chargers that can charge any of my multiple devices.

Yes, an external charger that can charge any device and even multiple devices at once is far better than an extra battery that only works with one phone model, requires that you shut off your phone to use it, and will be thrown away when you upgrade your phone.

I got a 6000 mAh external battery for that price and it can charge two devices at once (including an Asus T100 Windows 8.1 tablet), doesn't require that I turn my phone off, and won't be obsolete when I upgrade my devices. But to each their own :D
