So where is the second beta of 10.9.2?

It's been almost a month since they first seeded 10.9.2 to us.

Does anyone remember Apple taking a month between two seeds of a point beta?
 
It is unusual but not something they didn't do before.

What was atypical was the time it took them to release 10.9.1, it sure took them a while, and it was actually their longest (55 days). They usually get it out within 30 days or less.

You might find this extensive OS X release chart helpful. Note, it only includes stable updates, not betas.

Seeing them taking this long for 10.9.2 beta 2 doesn't really make me feel good either, despite a week or two of holidays.

I'm just hoping they're really working on a lot of bugs fixes, I didn't see much in 10.9.1 in terms of bug fixes.

Based on their track record, we should expect 10.9.2 to be out within 50 days of 10.9.1, which would be Feb 7.
 
Last year around this time they were working an update and it took months. There were 13 betas maybe more.

The update sucked for me. Made everything worse.

Moral of story: updates can be a bad thing. 10.9.2 actually is usable so I wouldn't want them to make things worse which history suggests they might.

According to the chart that I linked, you're referring to 10.8.3 update, which took 161 days from the release of 10.8.2.

Sadly, it makes sense. With the annual release cycle, they have to move majority of the team to work on the 10.10 now to get it in developer's hands by June/July.

These yearly updates are killing stability for me.
 
The second beta of 10.9.2 has been released to developers now. Should be downloaded in the next 10 mins for me.
