iPod Elgato and Video iPod

Has anyone successfully used the new Elgato EyeTV 200 software (1.8.4) to export video to the iPod video?

How well does it work? Is it fully automated (e.g., record a show and transfer it to the iPod w/o user intervention)?

NOTE: I read numerous Elgato-related threads on Macrumors.com today. No thread/post that I saw addressed this issue. In other words, I SEARCHED.

They make the EyeTV hardware and software for receiving TV broadcasts (analogue and digital) and for recording them. The latest software version can export video to iPod format, I believe (and I hope to make good use of that feature very soon!)

i use a elgato tv ez on my mini mac and record the program. edit the ads. then i o file export and change it to ipod settings then its ready!

I have an EyeTV 500, but I don't have a Video iPod, yet. I have exported into the iPod format, but I haven't imported it to iTunes. The process isn't automated, but it doesn't require very much user involvement. I'm not sure if you have any experience with the EyeTV software, but you just need to record the show, and then edit out the commercials. If you don't have any experience with the software it's reasonably easy to learn, all you have to do is read the manual or mess around with it. Once it is edited, click File>Export and then choose for iPod Default, or for iPod Recommended. Once that is decided you have to pick a location to save it and then wait. It took me a long time, but that's because the shows are in HD. After it's finished I assume it would import to iTunes, as there is a little box at the bottom of the export sheet that says, "Open iTunes when done". I would guess it would just import automatically, but if not you would have to Import it manually like any other song. Once it's inside iTunes I assume you know what to do with it. To summarize, it's a painless process, and I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Elgato has tested it extensively, and it works for them, so most likely it will for you too. Hope the helps.
