Over here, official s24+ is only $50 usd more expensive than 16e, which one should I choose?

The S24+ is a superior phone however it depends on how attached you are to iOS. I love the Apple ecosystem so I’d rather a downgrade in specs just to operate iOS.

I only air drop few times a year
It’s more than just airdrop. In fact, I only airdrop a handful of times in the past 2 years. But I’m still attached to Apple ecosystem and all that. The iOS, the interoperability between other devices (yes I have more than just iPhone), also general ease of use and so far the only truly world device (there are countries other than US).

I would not pick iPhone 16e myself normally but I’d pick iPhone 16e over S24+ just because it runs iOS.

Sending text to own email then open in another device is pretty easy

I find that Google's switch site is really well written and goes over a lot of common features that people are used to on iOS. For AirDrop, Android offers "Quick Share" which works of course with Android devices, but also desktops with an app - there may even be a Quick Share iOS app as well, I'm not sure.

Umm I’m not sure about that. Also sending text to own email address has its own delays, which I am not really a fan of.

I only send text to myself few times a year. Spending thousands of dollars to buy Apple products every few years to solve this would only save me maximum few minutes a year.

In which case maybe you can pick whichever phone you like since it seems you have no ecosystem inertia like I have.

Was about to say the same. As far as I'm concerned I'm definitely not against Android and believe they have fabulous products but I just can't trust the OS. I'm allergic to Android. Yeah yeah I know I pay the Apple tax.
