Hey guys. I was thinking of purchasing this - http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5252031&CatId=3473

for my 13" Early 2011 Macbook Pro. I was wondering a few things. First of all would my macbook pro be able to support it? Would the 1600Mhz make a difference over 1333Mhz? If I dont typically go over my ram unless I am gaming, do you think it would make a speed difference? I also heard that upgrading the ram increases the ram used for the intel hd 3000, would this make a difference at all in the performance of games?

Here is my MBP info:
1gsaW

Thanks

Yes, it'll work; however the processor only supports up to 1333MHz, so the 1600MHz RAM will downclock.

No, it won't really make a difference because the timings are also higher with 1600MHz RAM.
Is that true? I'm using a late 2011 Macbook Pro, but both the early and late 2011 systems use the Sandy Bridge chipsets. I haven't done any tests to verify the RAM clock rate, but the system recognizes the RAM as running at 1600 MHz in the System Profiler.

I would also like to upgrade my 2.3GHz MacBook Pro (MC700LL/A) Early 2011 to 8 or 16GB of RAM. I found this kind of memory (Corsair) on the net http://www.pc-canada.com/item/CMSA8GX3M1A1333C9.html . It says it is compatible with MC700 MBP model.

Should it be fine for my MBP or anyone here has tested this Corsair RAM model?

Appreciate for your sharing.

Thanks in advance

Either 8 or 16, brand neutral, you're fine. You'll only run at 1333.
