so question is can it happen, on apple website they state it has a limit of 8gb ram, however i remember reading someone had 16gb, is it possible or not? also if not is the 2x4gb corair or crucial ram the way to go?

It can accept up to 16GB, but at Other World Computing the price for that much RAM is more than the cost of the MBP...

I went with 8GB because I cannot justify paying that much for RAM and 8GB will be enough RAM for me. It seems to me that if you are doing the kind of stuff that requires 16GB that you should be using a Mac other than the 13" MBP i5.

I stick with OWC for Mac RAM because I don't want the kind of RAM hassles that I read about in the Newegg reviews. OCW just works and it is competitively-priced. That's good enough for me.
