I work downtown and can get to Best Buy (the one on 76th and Cicero) by about 615pm today. Let me know if you're interested.
BB told me they are holding the units on reserve list for at least a week no matter what. Is that the same policy for all stores??
Ok. The customer service rep told me "they just came in yesterday, so at least a week" for the 5 32GB AT&T models they had sitting behind the counter. Maybe I should've spoken to someone else.
Well, maybe they hold it for 24 hours for person A. If person A doesn't get it, then person B has 24 hours to get it. Maybe she was saying there are enough people in line that if everyone declined, it would take a week?
I don't know. I just asked her how long they hold them until they allow walk-ins to purchase them, and she said, and I quote, "we just got them in yesterday, so at least a week."
I don't know if they had a long list or not. It was in a small town outside Raleigh, NC, so I don't imagine it has a huge list. I could be wrong.
I'm thinking she meant a week to fulfill existing orders (plausible since you say it's a small town).
If anyone is interested, I can drop by today. If not, then I'll be heading to best buy tomorrow to get a refund on my reservation.

Oh boy.... I would like to imagine that a scalper wouldn't be that desperate & have to snag any iPad 2 he/she can find....
