I need a flat panel LCD monitor for a G4 Quicksilver. I'll be doing iChat, iMovie, iDVD, Photoshop CS2, Web Design, alot of Internet Browsing.

Right now I have a ibook 12" and a PC laptop with 15.4"

12.1" is too small, but I work on the 15.4 (measures to exactly 15") all day with no problem at all.

Price is a major factor, also. Here's the ones I can't decide between. If I get the 17" I'll probably have to sell my iBook.

-$165- really cheap!
-high resolution
-no specs? macconnection says they have no specs on it and it's only while supplies last. I would like to find more about it, like dot pitch

^Then there's this one....it looks the SAME as the one for 10 bucks less (above) but this one doesn't have intregrated speakers (which i don't want anyway). They charge more for no speakers?

or finally:

-NICE BRAND!
-rates good
-little too much $, but I could get it

OK, I just posted too many links. Basically I'm absolutely clueless on this. I'd rather have a 17" but I may have to get a 15". It's between any of those, I can't afford an apple one...although $799 with student discount isn't quite bad.

If anyone can tell the difference or sort those out for me, I'd really appreciate it!

Well, you probably want at least 1280x1024 then, so you've got hope of having two windows side by side. Why not just get a cheap 17" LCD, you can always go for dual screens later then you'll really be set.

I don't think I'll ever need dual screens. :)

Why are those Acer monitos close in price, but like exactly the same?

What Acer would you get?

Can anyone find specs on the ProView one?

Noone here knows any monitor terms.....I KNOW YOU DO!

What is the refresh rate, and what does it do. I've decided on the Samsung (last link above) for the most part. What do you guys think?
