When might that be estimated to arrive?
And why wasnt it there yesterday?
End of 07 or at least by Macworld 08.
What makes u believe that this time would be the time? I think when Leopard would be out is closer!End of 07 or at least by Macworld 08.
It would be intresting if you could post where u heard this!I've heard as late as 2009 before a 17" high-resolution monitor is introduced. That date came out of a story when Apple announced their partnership with the LED screen manufacturer.
The technology hasn't really been developed. Apple isn't holding out on us, the developer of the LED screen is. I've heard as late as 2009 before a 17" high-resolution monitor is introduced. That date came out of a story when Apple announced their partnership with the LED screen manufacturer.
Can we get a corroboration on this "fact"? I wanted to wait 'til October or January latest for the 17" 1920 x 1200 LED. Is this an impossability for at least 2 more years? Because if so, I'd rather pull the trigger when it ships with Leopard than two years further. The technology hasn't really been developed. Two years is a looooooooooong time. And some people are knocking the 15" LED as nothing more than changing the bulb that lights the exact same LCD screen we've used for years. Can we get a corroboration on this "fact"? Yes but not LED Widescreen. Of course the print is going to look ultra small. That's why the system lets you blow up text and zoom in on parts of the screen. I'm not going to let the text size not adjusted by an employee at the store detract me from buying the 1920 x 1200 model. My question is about the availability of the 17" Widescreen in LED technology. If it's by January 2008 I can wait. If it's not 'til 2009 then I will buy after Leopard ships with it.I just saw the hi-res 17" in the Apple store in Emeryville. The print was ridiculously small -- you would need a magnifying glass. The HD movie looked pretty good, though. In any case, they're obviously available now if you want one. The new 15" looked very nice, though not particularly better than the Macbook display to my eyes.

If that's true, I don't see what would be so terribly difficult about changing the bulb in a slightly bigger display.![]()
