17" MacBook Pro burns DVD-R DL?

Hey guys,

I and my dad bought two 17" MBP and we're very happy about it. But what I am currently arguing so badly with my dad is whether the 17" MBP really burns DVD-R DL?

It doesn't say anything accept it burns DVD+R DL. I tried searching through the internet, some website mentioned about burning DVD-R DL but some only say that it burns DVD+R DL.

I haven't really have a chance to try buying the DVD-R DL discs to try it myself. So if any of you guys have tried or known whether it really does, please help me!

We know, but as it said in my former post, Apples specs page does not confirm its ability to burn DVD-R DL. And BTW imacintel, it does not burn RW DL.
 
I bought a pack of 5 DVD -R DL discs a couple of weeks ago and I can vouch that my 17" MBP will NOT burn them... I at first thought that my Superdrive wasn't working but after buying some +R DL discs all was fine. So that was £30 thrown down the drain for me.....
 
I just printed out the Tech Overview for fun and got this.

Optical drive Slot-loading SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

Ouch! Too bad then. I can't burn 7GB file to hand in to teachers then.
Sucked and disappointed :(
