17" MBP in February: Same price as current 17"

Will the updated 17" MBP be the same price as the current one? Possible cheaper?

Likely same price, likely no 1650x1080 option (all of them 1920x1200)

Well it won't be more expensive. Given the 15-inch MBP didn't drop in price, I don't see why the 17 will. It will just be faster (2.8 GHz standard?). They need some sort of extra feature to justify the higher price other than a bigger screen, I think.

I agree about the price. However sadly the 15" MBP doesn't appear to have any great features over the macbook other than screen size, so the 17" may not either. We'll wait and see i guess, possibly 2.9ghz BTO option?? (I think there is an intel laptop chip out now that can reach that)

Yes. 2.67 GHz replaces 2.53 GHz and 2.93 GHz replaces 2.8 GHz in Q1 2009.

How soon after release before places like Macmall or Clubmac start to carry them? Maybe a couple weeks?
Looks like I could save a few hundred dollars buying from them and not apple direct.
